I opened my eyes for the 5th time and the sun still hasn't set. Around this time I'd be seen sitting in a bench in front of the Corpol lake waiting for the sun to set. The bright cherry red color of the bench has somehow lost its vibrancy. Worn but still pretty. I love how distress can make something look homey. More comfortable than a new furniture. Added to it is my constant scratching of the paint. It makes me feel like I've somehow made a mark on this bench.

The waters are still today. The ducks are nowhere to be seen. People around the park are either strolling, running or just doing their own thing. Minding their own business. I was a little disappointed because the reason I go to the park everyday is to meet new people. Or atleast a chance to be talked to by someone. Anyone. I smile at some when he or she meets my gaze. But that's how everything ends so far. A simple smile and everybody's back to doing their own thing. I tried making small talk, though rarely, I still try. No one's too interested to make a new friend these days.

"In 21 days you'll know!" *click*

"Impatient aren't we?" The guy said as he dropped the call from his cellphone. He looked straight at the sun as it sets.

An orange beanie. That's the highlight of the day. I wish there was something more but nothing interesting happens to me lately. I walked back to my apartment still with a heavy heart. Please God, make me feel the happiness again. I was praying when out of the corner of my eye something caught my attention. It was the same orange beanie that I saw at the park. I followed the guy wearing the beanie. The wet streets of Dorien caused by the constant raining is slightly uncomfortable to walk on. It has to be today that I chose to wear these high heels. I don't know why I'm even following this guy wearing the same orange beanie that I saw at the park. I know. I'm this bored.

The guy suddenly stopped walking and picked something up on the ground. I stopped. 'What the hell am I doing?' I turned back and noticed a clock shop at my left. I squinted my eyes to see the time inside on one of the old clocks being sold there. 6:15 pm. I've got enough time to decide on what I would have for dinner on my way back to the convenience store just beside the old apartment I live on. What I don't have though is enough time to cook a proper dinner. I dreaded even including cup noodles in my choices of meals I'd have to eat.

"Are you following me?" A familiar voice said in my right ear.

Before I even looked to see who that voice belongs to, I knew who it is. At the corner of my eye I saw a hint of orange. I looked straight at that guy and subconsciously said 'No'. That's not what came out of my mouth though.

"Yes" I replied to him.

The guy stiffled a laugh at my response. Clearly he wasn't expecting the answer. Well he wasn't alone at that. But there was no reason to lie, I was indeed following him.
I feel embarrassed posting this but I wanted to share. I'm just freewriting without any direction at all. I write parts of the story whenever I feel like it. This is just a small part of it.

If you'd like to give feedback on my writing, I would greatly appreciate it. I am very new at this and have no formal training whatsoever. In fact, before I posted this, I had to google the meaning of prose and fiction so as not to submit in the wrong category.
